In addition to our regular array of courses during the academic year and summer, MMW offers the following in 2025-26:
- MMW11 at Donovan State Prison: In Winter 2026, MMW will expand its educational outreach to offer MMW11 to incarcerated men in Donovan State Prison as part of the UCI-Lifted program.
- MMW Serves: This program combines an MMW14/122 seminar in winter 2026 with a Spring Break experiential program in the Colorado Desert (in and around Anza-Borrego Desert State Park). Applications due Nov. 1, 2025.
- MMW 13 – Taiwan: This Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) pilot is in partnership with two universities in Taiwan. ERC students will take an in-person MMW13 course at UCSD in Spring 2026, while working remotely and collaboratively with undergraduate students in Taiwan on a joint research project. Applications due early Winter term.
- MMW Global Seminars: Summer 2026 will mark MMW’s 18th year of Global Seminars, with three dynamic programs: MMW 14 in Granada, Spain, MMW 15 in Tokyo, Japan, and MMW15 in Berlin, Germany. Applications open in Fall 2025.
- MMW California Seminar: To complement our MMW Global Seminars, MMW will now also offer an MMW California Seminar, a less expensive option that requires neither plane nor passport. The program combines MMW15R with a two-week experiential program with two concurrent options, in the mountains of Southern California and in Baja California, Mexico Summer 2026. The MMW California Seminar fulfills the MMW15 and UCSD climate change requirements, and also the MMW122 requirement for transfer students. Applications open in Fall 2025.
- ERC 88: Learning Sustainable Well-being – Compassion for Self and Others: This 1-unit course will be offered Fall 2025 and Winter 2026. Part of the Learning Sustainable Well-being campus-wide launch, ERC 88 aims to help students build their resilience toolkit for school and life.
