World Wisdom Traditions

This course offers an inquiry on wisdom traditions that emerged and developed in antiquity and the pre-modern world.  This examination focuses on their instruction on how best to live, their guidance on one’s obligations and relationship to others and ideals for participation in community, and their portrait of the human-environmental connection.  In short, this course is a comparative inquiry into the “examined life.”  CLAS121R Wisdom Traditions is open to all students at UC San Diego and to all students at other UC campuses through cross-campus enrollment.   MMW121 is limited to students enrolled in Eleanor Roosevelt College at UC San Diego.
