Jesus in Word, Art, and Action
Jesus of Nazareth has had a profound influence on world history. This seminar explores diverse ways that Jesus has been explained and portrayed and how such depictions have influenced authors, artists, and advocates, from early Christian martyrs to Human Rights champions. Yet, these depictions have greatly differed, and these differences have been important for community formation and definition, as the seminar examines.
This course is offered in winter term as CLAS87 in Classical Studies.
