This program is embedded within UC San Diego’s Making of the Modern World general education world history program and cross-listed with UCSD’s Environmental Studies Program, combining academic preparation and experiential activity. A 4-credit seminar in Winter term provides the academic preparation. After completion of the class, faculty and students travel together to Yosemite National Park in Northern California and then Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, while learning about the diverse human and natural history of the region. Cost: $400.00. There is a Non-Refundable $200.00 deposit due upon your acceptance. The second Non-Refundable Payment for the reminder will be due by Feb 1. This covers transportation from UCSD to the National Parks, site fees, food, lodging, and activities over Spring Break. Preparation: Participation requires successful completion of the seminar in Winter, which meets on Mondays, 3-5:50pm.
